Breaking old habits

Many of us live with old habits, ways of interacting with others that have their origins in our earliest life with our families. Those coping mechanisms may have been developed out of need and possibly worked for awhile. But as we reach adulthood, have relationships with many different kinds of people and hold jobs, these outdated ways of thinking and acting often don't work anymore.

In therapy, you'll gain insight about why you still do the same thing while not getting what you really want out of life, and learn new approaches to dealing with many situations. Such unconsciously-held beliefs are powerful, yet research and my experience have shown me that talking with a professional psychotherapist can be the most effective way to change your life.
